Bio
Rebekah Sutherland-Flowers, is originally from Guelph, Ontario, Canada. She received her Master of Music degree from the Eastman School of Music in 2007.
She began studying music at the age of six, when she started piano lessons. At the age of nine she began studying voice. Having grown up in a musical family, she has many fond memories of making music with her parents and siblings.
Rebekah studied abroad at the American Institute for Musical Studies in Graz, Austria in the summer of 2005. She appeared as a soloist with the AIMS Festival Orchestra in a concert of Robert Stolz songs. The previous summer Rebekah pursued vocal studies in Salzburg, Austria. Her teachers include Connie Haas, Carol Webber, and Alvin Reimer.
Rebekah has studied and sung extensively in foreign languages, including German, French, Italian, Russian, and Latin. Despite her fascination with other languages, she has a special love for the English art song.
In addition to her Masters degree, in 2005 Rebekah received her BMus with distinction in Voice Performance and Literature from the University of Western Ontario in London, ON. She also holds a diploma in Liberal Arts from Augustine College, Ottawa, ON.
